This course will enable you to:
- identify the legal framework regarding workplace bullying, discrimination, and sexual harassment;
- recognise the legal meaning of key concepts, including "workplace bullying", "reasonable management action", "harassment" and "discrimination";
- understand who is responsible for such conduct, including the obligations of employees with respect to discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying; and
- become familiar with how complaints are made and the role of the Fair Work Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the courts in dealing with complaints.
Suitability
This course has been designed to discharge an organisation’s compliance obligations and can be used as part of an organisation’s induction and onboarding processes.
We suggest that managers and those with people management responsibility in your organisation complete the “Behaviour and Culture for Managers and HR Practioners” course.

Who is responsible for discrimination, harassment and bullying at work? In this component we outline how liability for sexual harassment in the workplace is established. This can take a number of different forms, including the personal actions of an individual or liability based on aiding or assisting the prohibited conduct of others, as well as the specific responsibilities an employer has for the conduct of its employees. |

Preventing and responding to unacceptable behaviour In this component we outline how complaints can be made and the role of the Fair Work Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the courts in dealing with complaints. |
