Managing Principal
Joydeep is the Managing Principal and Founder of People & Culture Strategies. Having previously been Managing Partner at another leading Australian workplace relations law firm, Joydeep established PCS as a firm that reflected his vision for legal and compliance services in the workplace relations space.
Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession 2010 listed Joydeep as one of the recommended employment law practitioners in Sydney. Respected worldwide publication, Chambers Global 2010 in noting Joydeep’s representation of publicly-listed Cochlear commented that Sydney-based Hor is commended by clients for his commerciality and legal acumen. “He’s very in-tune with the client’s needs,” said one client. In 2008 and 2010, Joydeep was listed in the Australasian Legal Business magazine as one of the “Hot 40” lawyers in Australia.
Joydeep’s professional qualifications include him being a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute, holding a Master of Laws from University of Sydney (where he previously completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours degree and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English literature).
With over 14 years’ continuous experience in advising employers on all aspects of law and strategy in workplace relations, Joydeep continues to advise leading Australian private sector (including Mars, Cochlear, Wrigley, Schenker, Fox Sports, Yum Restaurants) and public sector (including the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Audit Office of NSW) employers.
Joydeep appears on Sky Business Channel every week, conducts a monthly education program for lawyers on the internet (cle.tv) and is a regular presenter at HR and industry briefings. He has authored numerous books, including: Inside Employee Screening, two editions of Managing Termination of Employment, Work Choices FAQs, Fair Work Act FAQs and Finders Keepers: How to Attract and Retain Great Employees. Additionally, Joydeep is on the Advisory Council of Executive Women’s Business, the Editorial Board of HR Leader magazine, the CCH HR/IR Editorial Board and is a Board Member of the Northside Community Forum.
While an expert in all areas of workplace relations Joydeep is one of Australia’s “go to” lawyers for complex and sensitive terminations of employment. He also conducts numerous training programs for clients and has a proven track record of attracting the attention and respect of Boards, leadership groups and management team of organisations.
