Employee Misconduct
It is a reality of running a business that from time to time employees will engage in misconduct. Any allegations of misconduct need to be investigated promptly and thoroughly and the consequences of making errors can be far-reaching. Some examples of miscoduct that we have investigated on behalf of clients or have assisted our clients to investigate include:
- theft;
- employees attending for work under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol;
- physical altercations in the workplace;
- inappropriate behaviour at work functions (such as Christmas parties)
- fraudulent dealings with suppliers and customers;
- bullying and harassment;
- undermining an employer’s business; and
- electronic communications breaches.
